7Ply Project

The 7Ply Project is celebrating its 10th year anniversary and invites you to the Warehouse B1 at the city’s Port and at the multiplex WE! From the 9th to the 17th of October, the 7Ply project will be held for the 10th consecutive year by Propaganda Rollin co., the first skateboard brand based in Greece and sponsored by Monster Energy, the Youth Division of Thessaloniki Municipal Organization and through the cooperation of the Centre of Contemporary Art of the Thessaloniki Public Museum of Contemporary Art Desperados Tequila flavored beer. .

More than 120 artists from around the world will present their visual creations on seven-plied piece of wood, forming the board of a skateboard, which underscores the concept of the name "7Ply project"! The only rule, each artist must use the deck in his or her artistic creation...

The festival creates a platform in which artists get together from across the country and abroad, and convert skateboards into source innovation and creativity! An integral part of the photography exhibition, that will host the work of Greek and foreign photographers, is the presentation of their perspectives on the skateboard world and on street culture in general!

On Friday, October 9 is the Grand Opening of the exhibition of 7Ply project 2015 at the Thessaloniki Contemporary Art Centre at the Port of Thessaloniki, from 18:00 to 22:00. From 10 to October 17 and the opening hours of the Thessaloniki Contemporary Art Centre will allow interested parties to visit the exhibition on a regular entry ticket. Participation in workshops, screenings, discussions and lectures that will take place at the Thessaloniki Contemporary Art Center will take place with free entrance for the public.

This Saturday, October the 10th at the multiplex WE, the special event 7Ply Project 2015 will take place; includng skateboard workshops, graffiti performances (by the team of Box Gallery and other artists) and a skate contest (with three winners and three winning tricks in the VANS best trick contest, prize 300 €)! Come join us for a crazy night with a lot of bass and a lineup that truly represents both the street scene and the festival idea! The artists include: DISPHONIA, KUSH ELECTRICITY, CONTRAST, MPELAFON, GRECHO, JAFAR, TSAROS, NEKKID, DJCRON, JUMATTACK and then the skate contest will keep us up all night with music genres ranging from HIP HOP, TRAP, DANCEHALL, EDM to DRUM N BASS; presenting Elena Kalaitzi alongside Ernesto Richmond! The entrance to the main event will require an entrance ticket (Presale price: 6€ (super limited quantities) & 8€ | Door price: 10€) This day will mark an occasion truly worth celebrating, 10 eventful years of the 7Ply Project; a celebration of the 7Ply legacy and the Propaganda Rollin Co. brand.

On the last day of the festival, Saturday, October the 17th at the multiplex WE, there will be the big closing even party of the 7Ply Project 2015; presenting contemporary EDM sounds, with two eminent ambassadors of TECHNO Berlin scene! Entrance to the closing party will require an entrance ticket (Presale price: 8 € (super limited quantities) & 10€ | Door price: 12€). The 7Ply sound stage has hosted a tone of great artists in the past 10 like: Steve Aoki, DJ Hell, Grammatik, Vicarious Bliss, Chicks on Speed, Ison, Bare Noiz, Foeign Veggars and many more!

The 7Ply Project is a celebration of young people, who are given a platform, where artists and friends of the street culture and music, for dialogue and exchange of ideas, skate tricks and other expressions with modern means in the context of contemporary urban culture!
